General Description

Industrially, it is made by cationic polymerization of a C5 stream from steam cracking (rich in piperylene, cyclopentadiene derivatives, and other C5 olefins) using Lewis-acid catalysts, followed by stripping, stabilization, and optional hydrogenation to improve color and odor for light-colored formulations.
